The Source of True Wisdom

Have you noticed we often search for information before searching for the source of that information?

We live in an age where advice is everywhere. Podcasts, social media, AI, YouTube, books, professors, influencers—we're surrounded by voices telling us what to think.

But with so many voices competing for our attention, one question matters more than ever:

Who is shaping my thinking?

Or

Who is the source shaping our thinking?

Information has never been more available, yet genuine wisdom often seems harder to find.

Every day we're flooded with opinions, headlines, algorithms, and endless advice. We can answer almost any question in seconds, yet many people still struggle to answer life's biggest questions.

Whether you're raising children, sending a son or daughter off to college, making career decisions, or facing an uncertain future, your greatest need isn't more information. 

It's a trustworthy source, it’s to know Jesus.True wisdom isn't found in accumulating knowledge or in knowing more but in walking with the One who is wisdom itself. It begins with knowing Christ.

So don’t squander your time merely acquiring facts. It’s far better to study the truth God has given us in His Word. Remember: “The Lord gives wisdom” 

"For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding."— Proverbs 2:6The verse begins with four simple words:

“For the Lord gives..."

True wisdom begins with God.

We can gather information through observation, education, and experience, but wisdom is different. Wisdom is God's given insight enabling believers to view trials from heaven’s perspective and respond in a way the honors God. Godly wisdom is Spirit enabled ability to apply God’s truth to everyday life.perspective applied to everyday life. It enables us to make decisions that honor Him, especially when life is uncertain.

Ultimately, wisdom points us to Jesus Christ.

Paul writes that Christ has become "wisdom from God" (1 Corinthians 1:30), and that in Him "are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:3).

The closer we walk with Christ, the wiser we become, not because we know more, but because we know Him.

Before you seek advice from the world, seek wisdom from the Lord.

Billy Graham said that "Knowledge is horizontal. Wisdom is vertical—it comes down from above."

James reminds us that if we lack wisdom, we can ask God, and He gives generously (James 1:5).

 PRAYER

Father, thank You for being the source of all true wisdom.Lead me to make decisions that honor You, reflect Your character, and point others toward Christ.
